The 101 Art Book is a global publishing project by Arts to Hearts Project, developed as a growing collection of books dedicated to contemporary artists and the many subjects, materials, and ideas they work through. The project began with a simple question: what happens when 101 artists from around the world are brought together around a single idea, and that idea is left open enough for each of them to answer it in their own way? The result is more than a collection of individual artists. Each edition becomes a record of how a single theme is understood across cultures, disciplines, and career stages at a particular moment. One artist reads the theme literally. Another turns it inside out. A third finds a reading nobody expected. Placed side by side across 101 artists, those answers become a map of how contemporary artists are thinking right now. The project began in 2023 and has since published fourteen editions, bringing together more than 1,300 artists representing a wide range of backgrounds, practices, and perspectives. Across those editions the series has explored Photography, Food, Collage, Landscape, Abstract, Portrait, Animal, Floral, Nature, Dogs, Pattern, Colors, and Faces, with every volume offering a new lens on the same underlying idea: that artists see the world differently, and that difference is worth documenting. The series continues to expand.
