Gallery Takeover invites artists to create a unique, site specific installation in the Founders Gallery on the WAAM's lower level. This is not a call for a solo show of individual artworks, but a call for an artist, group of artists or a collective to put together an immersive, large scale installation that will "takeover" the space, engage audiences and offer atypical ways of experiencing an environment. We welcome interdisciplinary and experimental projects that explore ideas using any available media. The Founders Gallery, (AKA Small Works Gallery), on the lower level of the building, is an irregular space approximately 200 sq. feet adjacent to the Youth Education Space (YES gallery). The selected artist will receive a stipend of $1,500 to be used for supplies and labor.
