In this exhibit, we celebrate the beauty and uniqueness of the human form, from candid captures to self-portraits and nudes, and call on the power of portraiture as a medium for self-expression, storytelling, and reflection. Human Element: The Portrait Show offers a platform for artists to delve deep into the exploration of not only physical features but also the profound emotions, cultural backgrounds, and individual experiences that define us. All subjects, styles, and mediums are welcome. 20% of proceeds will benefit Journey's End Refugee Services (https://www.jersbuffalo.org), which welcomes refugees without regard to ethnic origin or creed and assists them to become healthy, independent, contributing members of the Western NY community. A Best in Show (cash prize) and Awards of Distinction will be awarded to the works of highest artistic merit based on technical skill, creativity, innovation, and adherence to theme. An Artists' Choice and People's Choice award will also be selected based on popular vote.
