LEIAH is an independent transdisciplinary research and creative initiative exploring the relationship between knowledge, culture, and creative practice. Its work brings together people from different disciplines to investigate complex questions and develop thoughtful cultural outcomes from the research. Cycle 01 centers on the question, “What does it mean for a living system to forget?” During the first phase, a group of investigators approached this question from different perspectives, building a body of research that now serves as the foundation for the creative phase. LEIAH is now inviting artists and creative practitioners to engage with this material and develop original work in response to it. Applications are welcomed from practitioners working in fine art, textile, photography, film and documentary, sound and music, writing, visual media, and related fields. Selected practitioners will receive relevant research material and work with the LEIAH team to develop a creative direction before producing their work through their chosen medium. The work developed during this phase will form part of the wider Cycle 01 outcomes and may be presented through exhibitions, digital platforms, documentation, and future publications.
