Meeting Your Land. Open Call for Photo & Video. October 2026 – Etna Area, Sicily, Italy. Meeting Your Land invites local and international artists working with eco-embodied, site-responsive, and place-based practices to submit photographic and audiovisual works for a multi-venue collective exhibition in the Etna area (Sicily), October 2026. Curated by SICULARTE and LEREA, in collaboration with IFEEA, APS Trucioli and the Ecomuseo del Castagno dell'Etna di Milo, the exhibition explores how embodied visual practices can deepen ecological consciousness. By bringing together works rooted in diverse landscapes and geographies, it transforms the region into a living exhibition space where landscapes, bodies, and perceptions converge. We welcome works that are site-specific, emerging from embodied attention and sensorial encounter with a particular landscape, and that engage with themes of ecological interdependence, memory, vulnerability, or transformation. The exhibition will be presented alongside "Appear/Vanish – Body and Etna in Symbiosis", a site-specific photographic project by Sicilian artist Stefania Milazzo, whose work becomes a meeting point between the Etna landscape and the diverse artistic geographies of the selected artists. Selected works will be shown across multiple venues in villages between the sea and the Etna Volcano, turning the entire territory into a living canvas.
