Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center - "#HopperHappens" Juried Photography Exhibition

Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center (EHHM) is pleased to announce the inaugural Juried "#HopperHappens" Exhibition (June 1 - July 5, 2026). This competitive exhibition is open to photographs by established and emerging artists aged 18 or older. Images are to be inspired by #HopperHappens, the Museum's popular, long-running weekly Instagram social media series that invites photographers to share images of real-world moments that evoke the style, light, and mood of Edward Hopper's paintings. Since April 3, 2020, our Friday social media campaign posts have evolved from a tool for connection during global isolation into a central pillar of the museum's digital community. This Juried Photography Exhibition (55 selected images --in honor of the museum's 55th Anniversary-- on view throughout 55 downtown Nyack locations) will be juried by the distinguished artist Richard Tuschman. Tuschman began experimenting with digital imaging in the early 1990s, developing a style that synthesized his interests in photography, painting and assemblage. Since 2012, beginning with his celebrated series, Hopper Meditations, he has focused on creating cinematic, open-ended photographic narratives that explore the complexities and emotional nuances of human relationships. This Juried Photography Exhibition takes inspiration from the 2011 and 2012 “Hopper Happens” festival organized and curated by artist Kristina Burns in downtown Nyack.
