(Register by April 15) Whether you think of hot rods, muscle cars or sports cars, there’s no denying that there were some stunning automobiles in our recent past. This workshop focuses on using contour lines to draw iconic cars of their choice from observation and then creating an arcade-like background to create a sense of space. Participants will learn about lines so they can use contour lines to draw. They will learn about space using a one-point perspective to create the illusion of a 3D space on a 2D piece of paper. Contrast will also be discussed in order to use colors and patterns to make different parts of the artwork stand out. (Common Core Standards include: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.6.1, CCSS.ELA.Literacy.W.6.7, and CCSS.Math.Content.6.G.A.3) Children must be accompanied by a co-participating adult guardian.
