Call for Artists: Water Works

The impetus for this exhibition, in collaboration with the University of Texas Permian Basin’s Nancy Fyfe Cardozier Gallery and the Ellen Noël Art Museum, came from community members focusing on water issues in the Permian Basin. Together they have put a national call out to artists to submit their work regarding the topic of Water. Selected work will be displayed at both the Cardozier Gallery and at the Ellen Noel Art Museum’s Nelda Lee Gallery during the winter of 2022. UTPB will also be hosting the exhibition Water/Ways on loan from the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street Program. Water Works invites artists working with water: Topics might include (but are not limited to): -Works about water that cross disciplines between art and science -Works about water in the context of art and ecology -Works about water in the context of socio-economic dialogues -Works about water in the context of adaptations and revisions of historical depictions of water Artists working in installation, video, 2D, 3D, and other medium are encouraged to apply. Artworks must be made within the last 3 years.
