The Beyond the Image Art Prize is an international open call dedicated to contemporary photography, video art, experimental film, moving images, and hybrid artistic practices that employ photographic and audiovisual languages. Promoted by Via Gluck 62 AIR as part of the Milano Centrale Festival 2026, the Prize is supported by the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele (Milan) and organized in collaboration with the University of Lausanne, StayOnBoard Art Gallery, Archivio Gabriele Basilico, and All Art Contemporary. The Prize, entitled Who Are You Beyond the Image? Art, Neuroscience and Algorithmic Narration of Experience, supports emerging and established artists whose work explores the relationship between identity, image, body perception, digital technologies, and the algorithmic narration of experience. The 2026 edition invites artists to submit projects that investigate the ways identity is perceived, represented, transformed, and constructed through photography, moving images, and experimental media. Particular attention will be given to works capable of fostering dialogue between contemporary artistic research, scientific inquiry, and public engagement. Two projects, one by an emerging artist and one by an established artist, will be selected for a solo exhibition at Via Gluck 62 in Milan. The selected artists will receive curatorial support and will be included in the official programme of the Milano Centrale Festival 2026.
