A Sense of Place invites visual artists to explore the universal desire to locate oneself and how place shapes experience, identity, and belonging. We consider "place" not just as a physical location, but as an emotional and psychological landscape carried within an increasingly complex world. Accepted Media: Painting, drawing, photography, digital media, mixed media, sculpture, and installation. Conceptual Directions: Refuge & Solace: Literal or metaphorical locations providing safety, peace, and sanctuary. Belonging & Displacement: The tension between home and estrangement, migration, diaspora, and navigating multiple cultural worlds. Architecture of Memory: How personal/collective memories embed in landscapes, interiors, and sensory fragments to shape identity. Digital Place: Virtual spaces, online communities, and fragmented relationships to physical environments. Place as Inheritance: Intergenerational connections to land, ancestry, heritage, and Indigenous relationships to territory. Vanishing Landscapes: Environments threatened by climate change, ecological destruction, and political instability.
