Woodstock Artists Association & Museum boasts five galleries, one of which is devoted primarily to one-person exhibitions. Selected artists have the opportunity to take over the Solo Gallery where they can present a focused body of work that speaks to the issues and aesthetics that drive their practice. Submissions take place once each year for the following year’s calendar. One esteemed juror selects the artists for the entire year’s solo programming; usually six artists. Those who have applied in the past and not gotten in, should consider reapplying since each juror’s aesthetic, ideology and point of view varies widely. Artists who’ve been awarded a solo show in the last five years at WAAM are ineligible for re-application. Applications are open to all artists within a 50 mile radius of Woodstock, NY. Non-members pay a $40 application fee, (there is no fee for WAAM members). Artists selected for a solo show are asked to procure a full WAAM membership within 30 days of notification of their acceptance. The $40 non-member fee will be applied toward their annual membership fee. All submissions are welcome.
