Viridian Artists presents A WORLD UNTO ITSELF, an affiliate group exhibition featuring Susan Costes, Bart Dluhy, Kazuo Ishikawa, Vernita Nemec, Robert T. Rogers, Sue Rollins, and Kristen Struebing-Beazley, on view September 8–26, 2026. Opening Reception: September 10, 6–8 PM. Closing Reception: September 26, 4–6 PM. The exhibition brings together seven artists working across painting, figuration, abstraction, printmaking, mixed media, and sculptural wall works. Their intuitive practices draw on memory, observation, personal experience, material, and chance, creating distinct visual worlds. Susan Costes explores human connection through oil portraits balancing realism and abstraction. Bart Dluhy combines woodworking and painting, embracing experimentation and chance. Kazuo Ishikawa creates geometric mixed-media wall works inspired by “hidden landscapes,” exploring space, nature, and perception. Vernita Nemec presents Lost Landscapes, abstract collages and altered photographs reflecting on environmental loss and the fragility of nature. Robert T. Rogers creates expressive paintings driven by gesture, color, and subconscious decision-making, connecting spiritual and psychological experience. Sue Rollins creates metaphorical landscapes incorporating vintage letters and found objects to explore memory, emotion, and impermanence. Kristen Struebing-Beazley presents Autumn Orgy: Ancient Greeks at Play, linocuts and monotypes inspired by erotic imagery from ancient Greek pottery.
