Sidney Nolan Art Prize

The Sidney Nolan Trust invites entries from contemporary artists working across all media in the UK or internationally. Inspired by the legacy of pioneering Australian artist Sir Sidney Nolan CBE RA (1917-1992), we call for art that is engaged with emotion and human identity in relation to society and/or landscape, environment, plants and animals. We seek submissions that demonstrate boldness, risk and conviction, and explore the unique quality of their medium across drawing, painting, print, sculpture, photography, digital, performance, installation, or mixed media.* We encourage cross-disciplinary approaches and collaborations. The selection panel will shortlist up to 40 artists for inclusion in an exhibition in Summer 2026 at The Rodd, Sidney Nolan’s former 17th-century home in rural Herefordshire on the England-Wales border. Artists are asked to propose work for the Gallery, gardens or wider farmland estate. In its inaugural year, a number of artists will receive prizes, including residencies and a solo exhibition.

Artists can win one of 3 residencies, a solo show, or artist mentoring
