September 1 Deadline for Artist Residencies in 2025 Session 1 - Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts

Established in 2001, the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts (KHN) is a renowned Artist Residency program that supports established and emerging visual artists, writers, composers, and interdisciplinary artists worldwide. Uniquely housed in a residential prairie-style complex in Nebraska City, Nebraska, KHN awards up to seventy residency awards per year and hosts 5 residents at any time. Residency awards are 2-8 weeks in length and include a weekly $175 stipend. In addition, residents receive their own private bedroom, bathroom, and studio. Located along the Missouri River, Nebraska City is Nebraska's oldest incorporated city. The historic town is beautiful and fascinating, with tree-lined brick streets, architecturally-interesting homes and buildings, and the most museums per capita of any city in the midwest. Nebraska City is thriving with businesses, dozens of attractions, and several large festivals held throughout the year including Arbor Day and Applejack weekend celebrations. Midwestern friendliness abounds. The city is walkable and easy to navigate via bicycle, and is an hour's drive from Omaha and Lincoln, the two largest cities in Nebraska.
