SE Center for Photography - Telling Tales, Call for Entry

A Single image can have a powerful storytelling impact, change the way we see, and leave a lasting impression. Often, a signature image or motif is associated with an artist or photographer or project. We’re looking for images that stand on their own, able to tell a story without supporting images.Analog and digital manipulation in all its forms welcome. Our juror for Telling Tales is Frances Jakubek. Jakubek is an image-maker, independent curator, and consultant for artists. She is the co-founder of A Yellow Rose Project, past Director of the Bruce Silverstein Gallery in New York City, and Associate Curator of the Griffin Museum of Photography in Massachusetts. Recent curatorial appointments include Potential Space: A Serious Look at Child’s Play featuring works by Nancy Richards Farese; Critical Mass, Portland, Oregon; Filter Photo, Chicago; The Griffin Museum of Photography; British Journal of Photography; Les Rencontres d’Arles, France; Save Art Space, Los Angeles; and Photo District News.

35-40 selected images will hang in the SE Center’s Virtual Gallery space for approximately one month. In addition, selected images are featured in the SE Center social media accounts (FB, IG, Twitter) and an archived, online slide show. A video walkthroug
