The City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program is a quarterly based initiative that consists of four 3-month long sessions each calendar year (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, and Oct-Dec). One visual artist will be selected to serve as the City's Artist-in-Residence and create work at the AIR Studio located within the Park Circle Community Building (PCCB) per session. The AIR Studio at PCCB is a 270 sq.ft. space where artists can work freely while sharing their art and artistic practice with the community. In addition to utilizing the studio, the resident artist will provide learning opportunities and programs for the community and present an exhibition of their work at PCCB. Visual artists age 25+ based in the South Carolina Lowcountry working in any medium that can be managed safely in the studio are welcome to apply. A stipend will be offered to each selected artist. Selections for all four sessions of 2025 will be made from this application.
