A new theme. A fresh reason to look again at the work you’ve made—and the work you’re still making. Meridian Art Circle presents monthly online art competitions with free preliminary entry for artists worldwide. Every artwork begins somewhere: an idea you couldn’t quite leave alone, an image that stayed with you, a material you wanted to push further. Meridian Art Circle exists to give that work another place to go. Each month, Meridian presents a new themed online art competition designed to recognize thoughtful, accomplished, and visually compelling work across a wide range of styles and mediums. Artists may submit up to three artworks free of charge for preliminary review. There is no requirement to create new work specifically for the competition—artists are welcome to consider existing pieces that connect meaningfully with the current theme. Selected artists may be invited to advance to the finalist round. Artists who choose to accept a finalist invitation complete a one-time $15 finalist fee, which confirms their inclusion in the curated online exhibition and consideration for Meridian recognition. Recognition may include the Meridian Award, Axis Citations, Circle Selection, digital honors, and inclusion in the online exhibition. A different theme is presented each month, giving artists new ways to revisit their portfolios and place their work in conversation with a changing curatorial idea.
