THEME: The Great Escape. “Welcome, summer! Summer may be the quintessential season for escape, but the desire—and the methods—for escaping are with us throughout the year. Whether physical or emotional, passive or active, internal or external, the urge to break away is deeply personal and endlessly varied. Through your photographic practice—however you choose to express it—we invite you to explore and share what escapism means to you. Give us your interpretation of the essence of escaping, the motivation behind it, or both. Your expression can be intimate or expansive, individual or collective. We want to see what you’re running from or where you’re running to. Show us where your thoughts take you, the people who put you back together, or the places that make you feel alive. For some, the photograph represents the escape, and for others, the act of photographing is the escape.
