The Umbrella Arts Center -- Call for Proposals
 Exhibitions

The Umbrella Art Center’s Galleries present contemporary art primarily featuring regional artists in our two gallery spaces, as well as select outdoor installations. We seek exhibitions that are bold, engaging, fun, educational, and create opportunities for constructive cultural conversations and explorations. The Umbrella presents four shows annually in the Allie Kussin Gallery, and three to five shows in the Wedge Gallery. Exhibitions usually run 1-4 months depending on the organization's calendar and the exhibition’s needs. Exhibits include curated and juried shows, as well as solo and community exhibitions, and feature a wide range of media and themes. The Umbrella is currently seeking proposals for our 2026/27 season (September 2026-June 2027). Proposals can be submitted by curators, individual artists, or a group of artists. If you are a juror that would like to submit a proposal or resume for future consideration, please reach out to the Visual Arts Manager prior to submission. The Umbrella is searching for artists that have a story to tell. We seek to engage our community with thought provoking exhibitions that create a space for conversation and show the world in different ways. We encourage artists to submit a proposal even if they feel the proposal doesn’t “fit” with what has traditionally been done in our space; we are excited to hear what you have to say and encourage guiding the space in new directions.
