Hunterdon Art Museum: Claybash 2026 - Call for Entries

The Hunterdon Art Museum is pleased to announce our second Triennial Juried Exhibition of Ceramics, Claybash. We invite artists and makers to submit work that explores clay as both material and idea. The form and content of your submission are entirely up to you. We welcome vibrant, thought-provoking interpretations—whether your work aligns with traditional notions of “functional” or “sculptural,” or ventures into new territory altogether. Surprise us. Challenge us. Show us what clay can be. Exhibition Dates: May 17 – September 6, 2026. Juror: Angelik Vizcarrondo-Laboy is a New York-based curator and writer of contemporary art and craft. Recent projects include the publication of her book New Women’s Work: Reimagining “Feminine” Craft in Contemporary Art and the curation of Objects: USA 2024. Other projects include curating the critically acclaimed Funk You Too!: Humor and Irreverence in Ceramic Sculpture and co-creating and co-hosting the Clay in Color podcast. She holds an MA in Decorative Arts, Design History, & Material Culture from the Bard Graduate Center. Awards: $1,000 First Prize • $500 Second Prize • Three Honorable Mention Prizes. Entry Fee: $45 for up to four entries. Entry fees are non-refundable.
