Flower City Arts Center - Printmaking & Book Arts Teaching Artist & Studio Assistant

Job Summary: ● Teach classes, workshops, custom programs, and private lessons in the Printmaking & Book Arts department. ● Assist the Director in maintaining the studio environment, specifically letterpress equipment and related materials. Reports to: Director of Printmaking & Book Arts. Knowledge/Skills Required: ● Basic knowledge of the Printmaking and Book Arts field including relief printing, intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, bookbinding, and screen printing and their related histories. ● Ability to teach a variety of processes and develop new curriculum. ● Ability to maintain a clean and safe studio environment and model best practices to students and studio users. ● Willingness to teach youth. ● Cleaning and organization skills. Responsibilities: ● Teach classes, workshops, and private lessons on an as-needed basis. ● Maintain, clean, and organize studio spaces. ● Customer service and facility tours. ● Available to work occasional evenings and weekend hours. Minimum Qualifications: ● 2+ years experience teaching a range of ages and skill levels. ● Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art, preferably in printmaking and book arts related disciplines. ● Extensive knowledge of printmaking, letterpress, and book arts-related processes. ● Positive attitude, flexibility, team player.
