CALL FOR ARTISTS DESCRIPTION: The Federation of Canadian Artists is announcing the open call for the 2024 On The Edge (OTE) Exhibition for both painting and sculpture intakes. OTE invites artists to get out of their comfort zone and push their artistic boundaries. Submit your most 'edgy' and extraordinary creation for a chance to win a prize. FCA thanks generous support from OPUS Art Supplies. HOW TO APPLY: Artworks may not be larger than 96” tall or 48” wide inclusive of the framed dimensions, if framed. Works on a cradled wood panel or canvas must be at least 1 ½ inches deep. Thinner substrates are eligible if framed. If your artwork is framed you must submit accurate framed dimensions at the time of submission – they cannot be added later. Fragile and sharp sculptures are not permitted. Sculptures may not exceed 80” tall x 36” wide. For heavy sculpture, sculptors must be prepared to install artwork themselves PERMISSIBLE SCULPTING MEDIA: stone, metal, glass, clay, wood, or ceramic. EXCLUDED MEDIA: ivory, plaster, wax, reusable modeling compound, found objects, electronics, holography and other projected media, and fragile modeling media such as paper-mâché and salt dough.
