On behalf of Parks & People and South Baltimore Gateway Partnership (SBGP), Maryland Art Place (MAP) is offering an exciting opportunity to Baltimore regional artists (MD, DC, PA, DE, VA) working in large-scale sculpture to create artworks of historical Baltimore Black Sox baseball players. The BSSP plays tribute to the legacy of the Baltimore Black Sox baseball team, memorialized through large scale sculpture(s) & collective memory. BSSP is seeking 3 sculptures for the park. All or one may be produced by the same artist. WHO IS QUALIFIED TO APPLY? Artist actively working in large-scale sculpture in Maryland, Virginia, DC, Pennsylvania and Delaware with experience in producing large-scale, public art sculptures. *Artists are urged to read the full RFP via Prospectus Link below. Artists must have experience working with large-scale public art. This is a two-stage process. Shortlisted artists will be invited to make a full application to include sketches or mock-ups. Selected artists should anticipate working together as the project develops. Artist teams are eligible to apply in addition to individual artists.
