Alessandro Berni Gallery is pleased to present Ascend, The Evolution of Identity, a solo exhibition by California-based artist Brian Higgins, on view from September 30th through October 12th, 2025 at the gallery’s Chelsea location at 511 W 25th St, New York NY 10001. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, October 2nd from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, with the artist in attendance, and Brian will also be painting his final piece of the series live in the gallery from 11am to 6 pm, Saturday, October 4th. In Ascend, The Evolution of Identity, Higgins invites you to step into a realm woven from a lifetime of observations – a tapestry of images, colors, and textures that dance between the familiar and the intuitive. You may recognize the ambient glow of a city skyline or feel the warmth of a sunlit shore, only to be swept away by abstract pigments and swirling brushstrokes that spark wonder. The works by Higgins presented here come alive through the spectator’s engagement, creating a custom visual journey that pulses with energy, born from the interplay between the personal perspectives and the artful arrangements before each one of us.
