Artists often lean into color as a primary way to express themselves, but what happens when color is removed from the equation? Black & White is a juried exhibition that invites artists to explore the depth of the achromatic spectrum—a limited palette that relies solely on black, white, and the gradations of gray between—and find new ways to evoke meaning through art in the absence of color. How does working without color change your artistic approach? Do you feel that working without color is constrictive or do you feel that it is freeing? Why? Artists are invited to submit up to 3 black and white works by February 8th to our call for artists page. Eligible media include painting, drawing, fiber art, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and mixed-media practices. Works featuring any color outside of the achromatic color spectrum will not be accepted. Eligible Artists must be 18 years of age or older.
