Our National exhibition of Miniature Art is celebrating its 40th year in Chambersburg. Miniature Artists from across the nation working in oil, acrylic, pastel, encaustic, watercolor, graphite, clay, wood, fiber, metal, and other materials are welcome. What is Miniature Art? Miniature art is often described as "fine original art done in small scale." A commonly accepted American guideline among many of today's miniaturists is that subjects do not exceed one-sixth their natural size. Exceptions are permitted for abstractions or tiny subjects not lending themselves to the "one-sixth" application provided they Embrace the delicate essence and spirit of miniaturism. Some of the criteria the judge is looking for: · Miniature image proportions · Originality · Artistry · Adherence to the theme · Composition and design of the work · Overall presentation · Color scheme · Aesthetic value ART MUST BE DELIVERED TO CFTA BY SATURDAY OCTOBER 14TH.
