The sacred stones of Salento are the stones that tell us about the presence and work of man over the centuries, from the caves of the Neanderthal man to the megaliths of menhirs and dolmens, from the dry-stone walls to the Messapian walls, from the towers to the Baroque lace of churches and palaces. The history of Salento unfolds in rosaries of stones: Stones that aggregate, look for each other, compose themselves, as if they were magnets. The most irrational soul of Salento is kept in these stones with its myths and folk tales that draw the suggestive history of this corner of Puglia. The sacred stones of Salento is a fascinating union between ritual practices and anthropology, between nature and artifice.
