J. MANE GALLERY - CREATING CHANGE FROM THE BOTTOM UP MURAL EXHIBITION

The “Creating Change From the Bottom Up” Project presents an opportunity for selected artists or artist teams to design and create in an innovative, urban style painted mural for The Diaper Bank of Connecticut Volunteer Center located in North Haven, CT. The mural surface is inside a warehouse building occupying a wall space of 40 ft. (W) x 8.5-11 ft. (H). The Diaper Bank Volunteer Center is a central hub of activity and primary workspace for volunteers from all over Connecticut who package and prepare diapers, period supplies, incontinence products and other basic health supplies for delivery to families throughout CT. The mural design content is open-ended. There are no preconceived notions for how it should look. The goal of the project is for the mural to feel fluid, organic, and connected to the mission of The Diaper Bank of Connecticut. It should be about community members helping other community members and have a statewide feel without obvious diaper imagery. The mural will be painted with an emphasis on artist collaboration.
